Introduction
AVIZ's Open Packet Broker (OPB) is the industry's first software-based containerized Network Packet Broker (NPB) application built on top of the open-source SONiC NOS to enable monitoring and security tools to access the network traffic.
Traditional Packet Broker solutions rely on proprietary appliances to provide analysis and filtering of network traffic captured via hardware TAPs, which comes with significant cost, complexity, and high-touch maintenance.
By leveraging modern programmable ASICs, our Software Defined Network TAP containers provide a highly scalable, flexible, and affordable capability to capture and analyze network traffic and feed the data to any NPB aggregators, including legacy FPGA aggregator appliances.
By leveraging our Software Defined Network Packet Broker solution, enterprises can easily scale up or down to meet the ever-changing demands from network visibility and security tools. Our SD-NPB provides line rate traffic forwarding using switching ASIC by configuring flow paths between input/output ports.
Supported Use Cases
- Enterprise Data Center - enables aggregation and filtering of traffic and set egress policies while performing traffic truncation
- Software Defined Data Center - enables aggregation and filtering for VxLAN networks based on inner headers
- 5G & Telco Networks - enables variable parsing, Aggregation and filtering for GTP use cases in 5G networks
